Template compatibility / Update Cart issue

Hello,
I have a problem with the update cart button. Regardless of whether I add or substract quantities (in the cart page), the update cart button doesnt work. Furthermore, the quantities don’t change. The only way to add quantities is to go to the product page and add from there, which isn’t optimal.

Could it be a compatibility issue? The second screenshot I attach shows that some of the templates from the theme are for a different version.
