search form categories dropdown hides behind or not shown

Hello I am creating a new header on the home page, I have a problem with the drop-down of the categories in the search form, as you can see in the image it’s hides behind or not shown.
Another problem is that when hiding this row for mobiles, the blank space is still visible, is there any way to hide it? the full width option is activated.
