Picture quality – skincare theme

Hi guys,
I am having trouble showing the right quality of the miniature of the product images on my website.
I tried to follow the recommendation when uploading the product image int the product page, and they indeed become great and sharp when selecting the picture on the product page, but when using them on the website in general, e.g in the banner, home page, category page… they all become blurry and unreadable.

Is there a format/size/option to change to make the thumbnail/miniature pictures showing good quality without sacrificing the product image on the product-page itself.
I am using .jpg and .png only.
